What to expect here

About MEN TALK TOO

MEN TALK TOO was set up as a place men can come when there is a lot on their mind and nowhere obvious to put it.

Most men who arrive here are still managing work, family life and responsibilities. From the outside things look steady. What brings them is the amount they are carrying inside. Thoughts that keep circling, decisions that sit with them, or a sense that everything stays in their head longer than it should.

The aim is not to analyse you or push you to talk about anything before you are ready. It is to provide a regular, private hour where things can be said normally and worked through at a pace that feels manageable. Once thoughts are spoken out loud, they tend to organise themselves differently. Perspective appears where there was only pressure.

About me

My name is John and I founded MEN TALK TOO after working with many men who were used to handling life on their own but benefited from having a consistent place to think things through.

I am a qualified humanistic counsellor and my approach is conversational, attentive and practical. I will not sit silently waiting for you to perform, and I will not force depth where it is not useful. We focus on what is actually on your mind, whether work pressure, relationships, becoming a parent, motivation, identity, or simply a head that does not settle.

You do not need to prepare anything before coming. We start with whatever feels easiest to talk about and follow it from there.

Sessions

I offer one-to-one counselling online across the UK and in person in Brighton & Hove.

Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £60. Some men come for a short period to get clarity on a specific situation, others use it as a regular place to stay clear-headed while life continues around them.

Appointments in Brighton are located next to Preston Park station. Online sessions take place via Google Meet.

A limited number of concessionary spaces are available and can be discussed if needed.

Getting in touch

If you want to see whether it feels like a good fit, you can arrange a brief call first. It is simply a chance to ask questions and decide whether you would like to try a session.

Who you’ll be speaking with

My name is John Creigan and I run MEN TALK TOO.

I’m a qualified integrative counsellor, trained in Humanistic Counselling at the University of Chichester and a registered member of the BACP, working in line with its ethical framework.

Most of the men I meet are handling life well on the outside but carrying a lot mentally. My approach is conversational and steady rather than clinical. You won’t be expected to have the right words, and I won’t leave you sitting in silence wondering what to say. We start with whatever is on your mind and work through it at a manageable pace.

Alongside my training, I bring my own lived experience of navigating difficult periods and working things through over time. It means I understand the hesitation that often comes with speaking about things, and why having a consistent, neutral place can make a real difference.

MEN TALK TOO grew from seeing how useful it is for men to have somewhere conversations can happen normally and leave things clearer than when they arrived.
