A place to speak honestly
You can arrive with something specific in mind or simply see where the conversation goes. There is no need to prepare.
A small, fortnightly online group for men across the UK. A regular place to talk openly, listen to others and build meaningful connection over time.
Everyday conversation often moves quickly. Work, relationships, fatherhood, purpose, ageing, change and the things taking up space in your mind may come up briefly, then disappear as life moves on.
MEN TALK TOO Groups make deliberate room for those conversations. There is time to stay with a subject, hear different perspectives and speak without being rushed towards an answer.
You can speak openly, listen to other men and take part in a group where conversation is given proper time and attention. Over time, familiarity can grow into trust, connection and a genuine sense of belonging.
MEN TALK TOO Groups are designed to create a reliable place where men can meet, talk openly and get to know one another over time.
You can arrive with something specific in mind or simply see where the conversation goes. There is no need to prepare.
Listening to different experiences can offer perspective, recognition and new ways of thinking about your own life.
The same small group meets regularly, allowing familiarity, trust and a stronger sense of connection to grow naturally.
Each session is facilitated by John Creigan, founder of MEN TALK TOO and a qualified humanistic counsellor. His role is to hold the structure, make sure everybody is respected and help the group remain open, balanced and grounded.
We begin with a short check-in. There is no pressure to say anything personal. It is simply a way of arriving in the room together.
The group talks about whatever feels present. John may offer a question or bring the conversation back to something that deserves more time.
We finish in a clear and contained way, giving everyone a chance to share anything they want to leave with before the session ends.
This is a facilitated conversation and support group, not group therapy. Its purpose is to create connection, mutual understanding and honest conversation in a clear, respectful setting.
It is not group therapy.
You will not be analysed, diagnosed or treated by the group.
It is not a workshop.
There are no lectures, worksheets or lessons to complete.
It is not forced vulnerability.
You can take your time, listen and decide for yourself what you want to share.
It is not a place for fixing one another.
Advice is not the default. Listening and understanding come first.
The group is for adult men who would value more honest conversation and a regular sense of connection with others. You may arrive with something specific you want to talk about, or simply be interested in meeting other men and taking part in conversations with more depth.
Conversations may include work, relationships, fatherhood, retirement, identity, confidence, change, purpose or whatever feels relevant on the evening. The shared starting point is a willingness to listen, speak respectfully and allow other men to do the same.
You would like somewhere to think out loud, value meaningful conversation, want to hear from men outside your usual circle or are curious about what a regular group could add to your life.
You require immediate crisis support, specialist clinical care or a level of support that an online peer group cannot safely provide. In those circumstances, John can help you consider more suitable options.
The group is intentionally small and designed for regular attendance. Although payment is taken per session, members are encouraged to return so that familiarity and trust can develop over time.
The first group is limited to eight places. Complete the short registration form and John will be in touch before your first session.
Registration does not automatically confirm a place. A brief conversation beforehand helps make sure the group is a suitable setting for everyone involved.
John is a qualified humanistic counsellor and the founder of MEN TALK TOO. He created the service to give men somewhere to speak before life reaches crisis point, with an approach centred on relationship, honesty and making room for experiences that are often carried alone.
Within the group, John is not acting as each member's individual therapist. His role is to create a clear structure, protect the boundaries of the group and help conversations remain respectful and useful to everyone taking part.
John is a registered member of the BACP and works with adults both online and in person in Brighton and Hove.
Everyone who joins will be asked to agree to a small number of shared expectations. These are not complicated rules. They are what allow eight people joining from different parts of the country to feel that the space is being taken seriously.
What other members share stays within the group. Join from a private space and use headphones where possible.
Different experiences and opinions are welcome. Personal attacks, discrimination and deliberately provocative behaviour are not.
Nobody is required to speak before they are ready. Listening is a valid way of taking part.
No. You are welcome to take your time and listen. The group is not designed to force disclosure. Most people find themselves contributing naturally once they become more comfortable.
No. It is a facilitated conversation and peer support group. John is a qualified counsellor, although he is not providing individual or group therapy within these sessions.
There is no permanent contract, although regular attendance is strongly encouraged. The group becomes more valuable as members get to know one another and conversations are able to continue over time.
After registering, John will arrange a brief conversation with you. This gives you a chance to ask questions and helps make sure that the group is likely to be an appropriate and safe setting for you.
Payment of £25 is made in advance for each session. Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received. Add your final cancellation and refund terms here before publishing.
You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone and somewhere private where you cannot be overheard. Headphones are recommended.
That is understandable. A small online group can feel unfamiliar at first. The conversation before joining gives you a chance to meet John and understand exactly what will happen before deciding whether to continue.
The group is not a crisis service and cannot provide emergency or specialist mental health care. If you are at immediate risk or need urgent support, contact emergency services, NHS 111, your GP or Samaritans on 116 123.
Join a small group of men meeting online every fortnight for thoughtful conversation, shared perspective and genuine connection.
